New Members
We love new members and we have a beginners group and a team group that we train with bi-weekly.

What makes a fantastic flyball dog? Every dog is a fantastic flyball dog! It doesn't matter if you are a small Pug or a Great Dane. All dogs have attributes that make them an asset for flyball. We have a few dogs that are in it just for fun, however we would love for new members for our competing team. So if you feel like getting stuck in to the sport we all love, keep on reading!
Training Info
We train regularly throughout the year on Wednesday evenings alternating Team / Beginners. Training for beginners is mainly getting the dogs used to the sport, while team is more focused on our upcoming events. The training venue is in Arbroath and details regarding entering / process of setting up will be discussed beforehand. Training is usually about three hours (dependent on natter!). You and your dog will not be training for the entire session and usually will be about 15 - 20 mins at a time two / three times dependant on how many are at the training. The rest of the time, your dog is free to get comfy in your car (though if this is a problem, please ask) and in the summer they can practice or play nearby (we advise bringing some shade for the dogs or if they are staying in the car you can buy car shades).
Commitments
Dogs learn best through repetition of regular training and if you can't make it, we will happily give you some pointers to practice at home. Please let us know asap as we try to set up the training times before Wednesday. If your dog can't make it, we will need to shuffle the lineup. Commitments for competitions : There is different levels of entry at flyball and we will always advise you what is best for you and your pooch. We can't replicate the competition atmosphere (noisy!) at training so there may be issues on the day of competitions that we have backup / standby dogs for especially in Foundations. Flyball is a team sport, please remember your fellow Tribe as they may not be able to compete if you have to pull out quickly. We will always try make sure we have someone on standby but please tell us as soon as you can if you cannot make it.
Etiquette
Dogs must be kept on lead until ready to train or compete. At training, dogs should be kept in cars (in winter) or in shade (in summer), allowing each dog to train without distractions. All dog fouling should be kept away from the training/areas and disposed of ASAP. Please ensure before you leave, you have taken your dog foul with you. Avoid dogs peeing on equipment, we have a mop and bucket at hand / disinfection spray to avoid other dogs copying. Close contact between dogs is only permitted on prior agreement with handlers. We have a few high reacting dogs and pair them appropriately. Once your dog has trained, please cool your dog down and return to either car / shade then return to help other dogs and handlers to achieve their training goals and join in the fun!
Inclusivity
Flyball provides access to our amazing sport for both dogs and humans. Our foundation team includes a completely deaf dog (Finn), a dog with metal implants from a serious accident (Memphis), and a one-eyed dog (Daisy), proving that any dog participate in Flyball!
We are committed to adapting our training to suit every dog that joins us. For Finn, we use hand signals to guide him to the board, while Memphis enjoys the excitement of Flyball without jumping by using a modified board. Daisy may need extra patience, but that doesn’t hold her back!
